Single Phase or Three Phase?

Most Pakistani homes run single phase, and single-phase hybrids up to 10kW cover the vast majority of residential needs.

Three phase becomes necessary when you have three-phase motors, when your utility connection is already three phase, or when you cross roughly 12kW of load. Three-phase hybrids start around Rs. 490,000 for a 12kW unit and climb steeply from there.

Common Mistakes When Buying a Hybrid

Undersizing for future load. People buy 4kW because that covers today, then add an AC and spend another Rs. 200,000 eighteen months later. Add 20% headroom.

What to Check on Installation Day

The inverter you chose matters less than how it gets installed. A few things worth standing over the technician for.

Mounting position. Shaded wall, out of direct afternoon sun, with the manufacturer’s specified clearance above and below the heat sink. Thirty centimetres is typical. Never inside a sealed cupboard, regardless of IP rating.

DC cable gauge. Undersized cable is the most common error we see in the field. It causes voltage drop, generates heat, and eventually damages the inverter. Ask what gauge is being used and check it against the manufacturer’s specification for your string length.

Earthing. A proper earth rod, not a wire tied to a water pipe. This is where installers cut corners because nobody inspects it, and it is what protects your equipment during a lightning season in Punjab.
